What is Gardnerian Wicca?
Wicca is a nature based spiritual magical path with deep roots in European paganism and folk magic as well as the western occult movement. Wicca and witchcraft overlap to a degree but the practice of witchcraft is only part of the practice of Wicca. Initiatory Wicca is mainly a modern esoteric mystery tradition in which every practitioner is a witch as well as a priestess or priest. Modern initiatory Wicca has many variants (Gardnerian, Alexandrian, and offshoots of these) but most share an adherence to a similar ritual structure and the practice of initiation. Our coven, founded in 2014, goes directly back to Gerald Brosseau Gardner, who was instrumental in first bringing “the Craft of the Wise” to public attention in the 1950ies.
